The IRS focuses on three critical areas.
The first is focus on key concepts i.e. areas that have high exam weightage
Second is working out practice questions. At every IRS, we work out, in class, at least 400+ questions across the curriculum.
Third, we will devote time to exam strategies and tips throughout the IRS.

Listen to the veteran FRM® holders or CFA® charterholders as they explain (among other things) how to read and solve questions quickly and effectively.

It's not a regular review course and hence concepts will be covered but not in great depth or detail. We believe that since at the time of the IRS the exam is just a few weeks away, any serious student should be familiar with the basics anyway.

Location Schedule and timing Venue
We will hold the IRS in Dubai. Please let us know in advance if you are interested. The IRS will be run in the 1st week of May for the May 2011 exam. The IRS is a 3 day, 30 hour course with an average of 10 hours each day. The venue will be confirmed two weeks prior to the beginning of the IRS

Benefits

It's simple. The point of practice questions is that you can work out problems of varying difficulty. The idea is that once you do enough problems, you become familiar and start seeing a pattern. Also, even for the questions you got wrong, reading the detailed answers will clarify your concepts. And because of this, suddenly the actual exam is much easier! This is not speculation or theory- all the faculty have been there and done that for all 2 parts.

Exam tips are also immensely valuable. When the clock is ticking and you are faced with limited time, you have to be extremely focused and efficient and you will learn how.

Also, the timing of the IRS is perfect. It is held a few weeks before the actual exam so that you have enough time to focus on the few weak areas. Talk about peaking at the right time!

Who is it meant for?
The IRS is the perfect solution for students who:

Want to zero in on their weakness and wrap up their revision to kick up the gear so to speak
Value and need a live classroom experience, but for whatever reason cannot commit to the 3 month weekly classes
Recognize that reading alone is not enough to pass the exam-working out problems is the key

It's not meant for students who have never studied the FRM® course. Or students who need to clear up their fundamentals. Or students who have studied but have not covered a major chunk of the FRM® curriculum as of the date of the IRS
