CAIA Program
Sponsored by the CAIA Association®, the Chartered Alternative Investment AnalystSM (CAIA®) designation is the only educational standard uniquely designed for individuals specializing in alternative investments. Launched in 2002, the CAIA program has seen over 60% growth in the enrollment rate of candidates from over 70 countries. Completion of the CAIA program demonstrates an understanding of alternative investments for hedge funds, real estate, private equity, commodities and managed futures.
Becoming a CAIA® charterholder requires the candidate to:
  • Hold a U.S. Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and possess more than one year of professional financial experience, or alternatively, possess a minimum of four years’ professional financial experience.
  • Successfully complete the CAIA Level 1 exam, then successfully complete the CAIA Level 2 exam within three years of passing Level I.
  • Agree to abide by the Membership Agreement of the CAIA Association.
  • Establish and maintain membership in the CAIA Association.
The CAIA® exam is administered semi-annually, in March and September, at Pearson VUE testing centers around the world. Based on candidate surveys performed by the CAIA Association, 120 hours of study is suggested to prepare for either level of the CAIA exam.
Purchasing current study materials for each exam is crucial, as the curriculum is updated prior to each exam window. Kaplan Schweser is ready to help you prepare for success on the CAIA Exam. Kaplan's Study Solutions includes all the tools necessary to provide a structured and focused study plan. Kaplan's products are updated as the curriculum changes to ensure you're obtaining the most up-to-date study materials possible.
